Robberies are a common crime due to the fact that they can be carried out at virtually any type of business, or even at a residence. There are so many robberies taking place at any given time that many go unsolved due to the workload of the police and a lack of evidence needed to identify a suspect. While the motive of this type of crime is to steal money or property, it is still the work of a desperate individual who is armed so there is no way to determine how it is going to end. Unfortunately, things do not always go as the robbers plan and someone ultimately gets hurt.

Luckily that wasn’t the case when this type of crime recently occurred in Bangor. According to police reports, a man walked into a Circle K convenience store located at 489 Broadway in the early morning hours where he pulled a knife on the clerk and demanded money. The clerk handed over an unknown amount of cash and the suspect fled the scene. The clerk was not harmed. Police were notified of the robbery and responded at around 1:45 AM.

The clerk described the robber as a white male, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” and weighing between 200-2220 pounds. He was described as having dark hair and was last seen wearing a dark-colored designed t-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes with white soles. The clerk was unable to see the man’s face because he was wearing a purple piece of material across his face.

It is believed that there were several other customers either in or around the store at the time of the robbery, although no one has come forward with any information.

A surveillance camera located at the front door of the store captured a photo of the robber as he was leaving.

Police say that the search continues for the suspect. Anyone with information pertaining to the identity of the suspect are asked to contact police immediately.
