$26.5 Million dollar verdict
Guy Loranger worked as supporting attorney in the subject case in
which the plaintiff, a farmer, claimed that a DuPont chemical had
damaged their crops. (The case was part of a nation-wide series
of similar suits against DuPont). The trial lasted seven months.
At the completion, the jury ordered DuPont to pay $9.6 million in
compensatory, $14.3 million in punitives And $1.5 million in sanctions
for discovery.
